We stayed at this hotel due to a family emergency so the choice had to be made quickly and on short notice. We were immediately impressed by the customer service and especially the positive attitudes and helpfulness of all of the staff. The excellent service continued through our entire stay (4 nights).
There was very little choice for rooms so we got the smallest (one double bed). It was REALLY small with little space to put anything other than yourself! Our room was clean, although we knew another couple that was staying on another floor and they mentioned some mold in their shower near the ceiling..
The food was typical for this level of hotel, but again the service made the most of it as everything was well stocked and serviced regularly by a very attentive employee with a great attitude.
Overall and given the circumstances we were happy that we stayed here. People truly do make the difference and this hotel is a perfect example of that. Our thanks to all of those we interacted with during our stay.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND
The staff is amazing; everyone we crossed paths with during our one-week stay was helpful and kind. Kudos to all of them; we appreciate you!
We like Tru chain because is carpet free rooms, which makes easier to keep clean. Not this one, the conditions of the rooms we were assigned to are poor, with inadequate cleaning and maintenance. The first one was huge and so mouldy that the entire wallpaper was falling off the bathroom walls, showing the dark spots. After the hurdle, we found out through Google reviews that only a couple of days before our initial stay, someone was assigned to the same bad room, and the management response committed to putting the unit out of order for further investigation and resolution. Clearly, that did not happen.
The room we ended up staying in was really dirty (photos), less mouldy, but the smell was still heavy. The walls are full of patch-ups and stains.
The elevator hallway on the second floor was dirty from the day we arrived to the day we left. It seemed like construction had happened at some point, and leftover debris was left behind.
The breakfast was as conventional as any other Tru we’ve been to.
We don’t know how this hotel has received so many good reviews; maybe we were just not as lucky. In any way, when in the area again, it definitely won’t be a choice.

The hotel is located in a very nice part of town with restaurants within walking distance. I suggest trying Floyd’s. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds and hotel were clean and in order. The room was nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

I am writing to follow up on an issue I initially raised to guest correspondence about this property. I was informed that my concern had been forwarded to the property and that I should expect a response. However, it has now been over two weeks, and I have yet to receive any communication from either the property or a representative.
This concern stems from a previous reservation where my interaction with both an employee and a manager was disappointing. The communication I experienced was rude and unprofessional, and it was clear that providing exceptional customer service or attempting to resolve the issue was not a priority. I left that interaction feeling unheard and unsupported, which is not the level of service I expect.
The continued lack of follow-up only adds to that frustration. As a Diamond member, I have remained loyal to the Hilton brand and have consistently trusted the standard of service that is promised. Unfortunately, this experience has not reflected that standard.
At this point, I am requesting acknowledgment and assistance in resolving this matter. I would greatly appreciate a prompt response from property management to address this situation appropriately.

I was glad we found a place for that night, we were exhausted with the moving, so, what better than Hilton which is my favorite chain of hotels & Tru is one of them. Starting good with the night shift, he was very nice very good service. But, it was extremely disappointing to stay in a place so badly made & kept. I thought it was like a Hampton Inn, but no, this hotel was so poorly made & maintained that it was sad to see. Starting with the walls, all dirty, stained & even runny, the bathroom sink didn’t have any space to accommodate our personal stuff, and it wasn’t lack of space, just very badly designed. Only 2 small towels for the shower (it’s making it look that you are on a highway in a motel 6). The walls of the bedroom were absolutely filthy, floor carpet, door handles, and shower all extremely dirty. The bed didn’t look like it was changed, the sheets were wrinkled in the middle of the bed like some was there the night before & sheets were not even straightened. It was very disgusting. Location is good, coffee station by the front desk is seem to be working in the morning & evening ok, but we also saw a guest with 2 humongous dogs, so, if they allow those filthy dogs in every room, that’s why the hotel is so dirty. I love dogs, but I don’t like them sleeping with me, and obviously even less if they aren’t mine. So, if they allow animals, they should be extremely detailed with the cleaning. They had soup/lotion & conditioner dispensers which is smart, but so bad located because you didn’t have space to put your bathroom stuff or it would get spilled. The bed was falling apart, light features, lamps, shower handles, mirrors, everything was installed crooked, I’m wondering 🤔 where the laborers came from!?!?
It’s sad, location was convenient, it was late at night, cold, we needed a place & price was fair if it was cleaned & well kept, but in this hotel I wouldn’t pay more than $80 total per night. Seriously it was like a motel 6, & I know because I had to stay in one for emergency traveling from Kansas & actually was much more cleaner than this one.
Desk clerk at night “Caucasian” was very nice & friendly, the one in the morning, “black” absolutely grumpy. What’s with the attitude of some of these group of people? I’ll add pictures, so, you’ll see. I don’t care about skin colors, but every time I have to go to Houston areas, is the same.
