I travel a lot and know what the Hyatt Place standard is. Even older Hyatt's check certain boxes. First, I have to say that the front desk person was one of the friendliest and best I've had at a Hyatt. I've had people be more upscale and professional, but he was the most engaging and puts you at ease with his presence. Unfortunately, the housekeeping and maintenance left something to be desired. The AC was off in the room and smelled like it had been for a while. The bed was half made, the towels provided are half what is standard, and the TV didn't work. I have to believe that this room has just not been occupied in a long time and was therefore neglected, which is more management. It tells me the room wasn't serviced before my stay, and who knows the last time it was. I checked in late and have an early meeting, so it'll have to do for the night.

Great location with several good restaurants literally right outside of the hotel. Mr. David Bell, the front desk night shift worker, was great. Recommend it

I stayed for the first 2 nights after Hurricane Beryl after searching for what felt like the entire city for a hotel that had power, water, and AC. My stay couldn't have been better, helpful and friendly front reception, incredibly clean rooms, great AC, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, clean pool, and plenty of parking. The lobby had strong wifi and cozy nooks so I could still get some work done during the day. The hotel was also accommodating to my fur baby. Breakfast was delicious, with options such as eggs, bacon, sausage, potato, greek yogurt with fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereal, toast, fresh coffee with several syrup flavors, and all the juices. My only (VERY minor) complaint was the breakfast was missing a pancake or waffle maker, but was still delicious. Thank you Hyatt for saving the day and making my stay AMAZING while waiting to get power back at home!

So my family came here and while my room was fine my parents room had a pretty big pee puddle by the wall near the ac unit. they called to get it cleaned up, and while they cleaned it up my mom was drinking a bottle of water which the cleaning guy proceeded to use so it could be quicker my asked why did he do that he didn't understand what she said. so when I went down to ask why did he did that the "FRONT DESK MANAGER", said I'm sorry I don't know why and offered a water bottle as a replacement. a few seconds later the guy that cleaned her room was there and I pointed him out and she asked him and he explained did it so he could finish quicker because he needed more water and i told him theres a bathroom you can get the water you needed so that makes no sense to literally throw someone else'sproperty on the floor, thats purelu disrespectful. the "FRONT DESK MANAGER" seems like she didn't care and started raising her voice slightly like ok we're done. when my mother came down to tell them the pee smell is still there and went to the the same front desk manager. FDM said we know the situation and apologized and the General Manager overheard the the conversation and all she did was apologize more. Day 2 my parents had to leave their room and are currently in my room because whatever that puddle is, its still there and stinks badly.
the customer service here definitely leaves something to be desired. I always pick Hyatt when traveling but this experience will leave me looking elsewhere.
the positives are the breakfast is actually quite good for the hotels price point. my room wasn't bad.

Booked this room for a reasonable price during the Houston 2024 Derecho event because my own home lost power for days.
In that context, the hotel was bursting at the seams. Hotel staff were very patient and efficient during a very trying time when hot, angry, frustrated people were trying to get checked in.
We had a king room that could have easily slept four with the king bed and a a sleeper sofa (with power and USB plugs!) in the room. Nice desk for working from, a decent mini fridge, and a nice wardrobe for storing clothes.
Shower was a step in model, very nice, with plenty of shampoo, conditioner and body was provided.
Everything in my room was very clean. We did have to call maintenance for a plunger, but they were very responsive.
The included breakfast was nice, with hot options, toast, bagels, oatmeal, fresh fruit and a selection of juices.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to family, friends or coworkers, and would absolutely stay here again if I needed to.
