The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It appears to be a pit stop for truckers. The bathroom and shower floors are black and filthy. The maid refuses to clean the room if you’re not gone by 8am. We got locked out of our room because the door is do heavy the latch fell, which made us miss our event. We told 3 different staff members to be sure our rooms were clean and they did not do it. When we followed up she lied and said we did not ask and then changed her story. It was one thing after the other and the staff did not care. Don’t waste your time here. You won’t be satisfied.

It's rare that I score hotels as mediocre. They're either a huge hit at five stars or a big miss at 1-2 stars. But I was very disappointed with the service here, especially after reading the reviews that applauded the wonderful customer service and attention.
The rooms were clean and the location was perfect for us, plus the parking lot felt safe and secure and there is a complimentary breakfast.
Having said all of that, the service could not have been more lacking, especially given the fact that the parking lot was nearly empty, indicating that the hotel was far from sold out. Not only did no one answer the phone over the course of the day, as I was trying to confirm some details about the amenities offered, but as DIAMOND ELITE members, I would expect recognition of that at the time of our check in, but moreover, even though our reservation was made online and the request was put in at that time, plus an additional phone call was made well before we arrived, we were not put on the top floor and we were not located away from the ice machine at the end of the hall.
There were exactly two regular coffee pods in our room and one was defective, spewing grounds everywhere. We requested more from the front desk and were handed decaff, which we specifically said we did not want. The man behind the counter said he did not have any pods, but he would look and hold them for us at the desk. That didn't happen.
Would we stay here again? Meh....

Where do I begin. I called before we drove down from SATX to confirm that we had a 4th floor room that I requested when I booked, just to be told they didnt have anymore only suites. To which we agreed to pay the extra. Upon a long night and drive we were given room 407, only to be shocked and mortified that it was already OCCUPIED! Thankfully the gentleman was kind enough and was dressed! We returned to the front desk and then had to wait 40 minutes before getting the most disgusting room. The shower floor was so filthy we put a towel down. The attached are the photos which do not show how bad it was. We were given another room the next day which, upon entering appeared cleaned until we pulled back the sheets and saw stained sheets. Fortunately I travel with sheets and we slept on those but as an IHG member that was the most horrible experience. Not to mention we never received a call from a manager. The new employee Simone, apologized profusely but had only been on the job 2 days so could only give points. Really??? NEVER AGAIN! DO BETTER.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express was mostly comfortable, but there were a few issues worth mentioning. When I first arrived, I found an old French fry on the floor, which made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. Then, when I went to lower the blinds to block out the sun, the large 6-foot metal blinds frame unexpectedly fell off and hit the floor. The bed itself was comfortable and the room had a nice layout, but the bathroom drain wasn’t working properly. During my morning shower, I ended up standing in about six inches of dirty water before I finally got the tub to drain afterward. Because of those maintenance and cleanliness concerns, I’m giving my stay a 3 out of 5. The room has potential, but it definitely needs better upkeep.

AVOID THIS LOCATION
I was in town visiting family and decided to stay at this Holiday Inn. I walked in and spoke with the front desk attendant, who confirmed availability for a double queen room for two nights. I was checked in and charged $257 without issue.
However, the next day, I received a call informing me that the room was no longer available for the second night — with no explanation, no apology, and absolutely no effort to offer a solution for me and my family. I was simply told I had to leave.
This forced us to pack up all our belongings unexpectedly and scramble to find another place to stay on short notice — a major inconvenience, especially during a family trip.
The management clearly has no regard for their guests, and the way this was handled was completely unprofessional. If this is how Holiday Inn treats its customers, I’ll be staying elsewhere from now on.
Terrible communication, poor service, and no accountability. You’ve been warned
