I made a reservation on the IHG website a couple weeks ago for the upcoming weekend, Friday night through Sunday morning. I logged in to my IHG account today to modify the dates. I wasn't going to be able to make it Friday night, so I simply needed to drop Friday night and keep Saturday night. I was doing this in accordance with IHG cancellation, modification policy, before today's 6pm cutoff time. The website would not allow me to modify my stay, so I called the front desk and spoke with a pleasant lady about the situation. She informed me that her manager had imposed a mandatory two-night minimum and that I would be able to speak with that manager tomorrow. This would take me past the cancellation time of 6pm today, so I simply went online and cancelled my entire stay and booked one night at a competitor's hotel. The competitor's hotel is farther from where I need to be, but I welcome a bit of distance for ease of booking needs.
I have used IHG hotels for decades and have hundreds of thousands of points, and will continue to use them. However, I will not book at this location again, as they do not allow for me to use my points and they have imposed a mandatory two-night minimum stay. Please be aware.
If I was a manager of a hotel, I would be available at all hours to meet my customer and staff needs. Hospitality here lacks basics.

We checked in on November 24th and out November 25th. Front desk both days were friendly and welcoming. Housekeeper on the 1st floor the morning of check out was real sweet. My room was very clean. Bed was soft and comfy. Very relaxing. However the lady serving breakfast was rude. She acted like she didn’t want to be there. The closer it got to ending breakfast she didn’t want to make more food but there was still a good amount of people there. But even though I didn’t care for that I still rated a 5 because everything and everybody else was great!! Whenever I’m in town this is where I will be staying!

Property seemed fairly new, nice finishes and common area. We loved that it was within walking distance to the outlet mall. Breakfast had lots of good options. We came with a youth team for a tournament and what impressed me the most was the staff. A hurricane had just come through Houston 4 days prior and many people in the area were still without power including some employees. Despite all that, Melissa, at the front desk took great care of our group. She confirmed the property was still open, helped coordinate rooms, provided dining recommendations, packed carry-and-go breakfasts for our players because our game time was before breakfast and helped some of our team with late check out. She was wonderful!!

I was there last weekend for Prairie A&M homecoming. Hotel staff accused us of smoking in the room. Attempted to charge my friend card 3 different amounts for allegedly having weed all over the beds and on the desk, when in fact my friend jacket was shedding. Weed and fuzz looks nothing alike. When she asked them about it because we were still in the parking lot when they tried to charge $250 then $150 and finally $100. The staff then lied about the managers name. Just a whole lot of nonsense because of the smell of weed, that was not consumed by anyone on their property.

I was very pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of everyone at the front desk, particularly at check-in and check-out. I stayed for multiple days, and the Housekeeping staff graciously provided clean towels and extra toilet paper upon request. The room was just OK, and typical for a Holiday Inn Express, but there were a few things that were problematic:
-the mini refrigerator froze all of my milk, yogurt, fruit and bottled water
-the room had a musty odor, either from the old, dusty carpet or from the AC unit
-there were periodic wafts of a skunky smell in the hallway outside of my room. Did a skunk die in a stairwell? Hard to say what caused that odor…
-no skim milk available for the continental breakfast and the oatmeal was ALWAYS watery
-the first night I woke up at 3 a.m., walked to the bathroom in bare feet, and stepped on something sharp - it turned out to be a toenail clipping (disgusting). Housekeeping obviously didn’t vacuum well after the last guest checked out.
Do I recommend the hotel? Yes, but I suggest checking the room out very carefully before checking in.
