The hotel isn’t worthy of the Hilton name. Rooms are run down and carpet in room was peeling. Bathroom had an unpleasant odor. We stayed for 1 hour and immediately cancelled our reservation and moved to another hotel in the area. We found out that the hotel has been sold and will cease operations on July 31, 2026. Seems management is trying to squeeze every bit of revenue from unsuspecting guest until then. And yes we were told by an employee that the bar and restaurant were closed on Sunday, July 12. I suggest you select one of the many other hotels as we did. I will add that the staff were really nice and considerate. They are hard working employees with no control over maintenance and upkeep expenditures. I pray that they each find good jobs elsewhere. Update: * The hotel was sold in 2025 for $27 million after years of deferred maintenance under its previous owner. * The new owners are closing the hotel for approximately 12 months beginning in late July 2026 for a complete renovation. About 65 employees are being laid off during the closure.

Convenient location, affordable rate, and nice views of the water. The hotel is in definite need of renovation. There must have been a leak of some kind because the carpet in my room was always slightly wet, particularly near the fridge and under one of the AC vents. The shower water temperature was inconsistent. One morning I waited about 15 minutes for the water to get warm and it never did. There were rust cracks in the tub basin. The views from the room were excellent and you can tell that this was once a very nice hotel, but it's in serious need of some love and care. With some work, it could be a great spot to stay, especially when visiting JSC.

As a Hilton member of several years, this is the worst Hilton hotel I’ve ever seen!!! The location has a nice ocean view, but that’s about it. The hotel is so old and smells like mold and mildew! The pool was green and out of service, would have been nice to know before booking! Our room was a nice size to accommodate a family with 2 children. The sofa bed had actual mold. The couches stunk! There are stains on the pillows! The carpet is disgusting! The bathroom vent is out of order. The door lock is jammed. The shower floor is black and the corners as well. And there’s cracks on the walls.

I wanted to leave my two cents since many of the reviews for this hotel are pretty negative. The check-in process was simple and easy, and the lobby is very nice and smells great. Unfortunately, once you get off the elevator on the guest floors, there is a noticeable wet carpet/mildew smell. The hotel is definitely in need of a remodel. Our room was fine, but it also showed a lot of wear and tear. There was a little hole in the bathroom door, the closet door was missing, there was mildew around the tub, and the sheets were very worn. The beds also seemed older and weren’t particularly comfortable. We did use the pool, and while it was fine for the kids, it could definitely use a deep cleaning. We did not try the restaurant, so I can’t speak to that experience. One of our biggest frustrations was housekeeping. We requested fresh towels multiple times, and the service felt very minimal. This was surprising, especially since we typically stay at Hilton properties and have generally had great experiences. If you have high expectations for a Hilton stay, I would suggest looking at other nearby hotels. If you don’t mind an older property and just need a place to sleep close to NASA, it will probably do the job. Would I stay here again? Personally, no. Did it serve its purpose for our trip? Yes. But there are enough maintenance and service issues that I would choose a different hotel next time.

⭐ 1/5 — WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER | Dirty Rooms, Rude Staff & Complete Incompetence I am writing this review to warn fellow travelers about the absolutely unacceptable experience my family endured during our 2-night stay at the Hilton Clear Lake Hotel near NASA, Houston. 🚨 DIRTY ROOM AT CHECK-IN Upon checking into our room, we were horrified to discover that it had not been cleaned after the previous guest's checkout. There were hair on the pillow and the bathroom dustbin still contained the previous guest's waste. This is a basic hygiene failure that is completely inexcusable at any hotel, let alone a Hilton property. Please check attached images. 😤 RUDE AND INCOMPETENT FRONT DESK STAFF When we complained about the dirty room, the front desk receptionist, who was rude from the very moment we arrived, handled the situation with zero professionalism. Instead of finding us a clean room within the same property, he casually suggested we go look for another hotel ourselves and offered to cancel our booking and refund our money, as if our comfort and convenience meant absolutely nothing to the hotel. His attitude was dismissive, unhelpful, and completely unbecoming of a Hilton representative. 🏨 WALKOVER DISASTER - LOST OUR ENTIRE EVENING The receptionist eventually issued us a walkover form to another hotel. However, when we arrived at the new hotel after loading all our luggage and shifting everything to our car, the new hotel refused to honor the walkover, stating they do not accept walkovers. This was a complete failure on the part of the receptionist who sent us there without verifying availability or policy. We were left stranded with our luggage, having already checked out of our room, with nowhere to go. We had already completed the full check-in process at the original dirty room, moved all our belongings in, used the bathroom, and were settling in - only to discover the state of the room. We then had to pack everything back up, load our car, drive to the second hotel, get denied entry, and return back to the original Hilton - all in the same evening. We lost our entire evening due to this hotel's incompetence and the receptionist's failure to properly coordinate the walkover. 🧹 NO HOUSEKEEPING ON DAY 2 On our second day, housekeeping was not sent to our room at all from morning until late evening. When we finally requested cleaning around 4 PM, housekeeping arrived before the time we specified and disturbed our sleep, showing a complete disregard for guest privacy and comfort. 🌡️ BROKEN AC — UNBEARABLY HOT ROOM To make matters worse, the air conditioning/chiller unit in our room broke down on the second day. The room became unbearably hot, making it impossible to rest comfortably. No resolution or room change was offered proactively. Later on AC was up and running. 📝 SUMMARY In two days, we experienced: a dirty uncleaned room at check-in, a rude and dismissive front desk receptionist, a failed walkover that wasted our entire evening, no housekeeping all day, unwanted disturbance during sleep, and a broken AC unit. Every single basic standard of hospitality was violated during our stay. I would strongly urge Hilton corporate to investigate this issue. No guest, especially at a Hilton branded property should ever have to go through what we experienced. We will not be returning to this property and will be escalating this matter to Hilton corporate customer care and Priceline for a full refund. Do yourself a favor and choose a different hotel when visiting the NASA/Clear Lake area of Houston.
