DO NOT STAY!! I wish I could give a zero rating. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We checked into our room late evening. When we walked into the room, we could feel the AC was not cooling. Looking up on the ceiling, we saw water damage. We sat on the bed to eat our dinner we grabbed on the way only to see a roach go across the floor. Upon further inspection, there were ants in the bathtub and ants coming out of a hole from underneath the tub and another roach running across the floor. The room phone was not connected and didn't work. I walked downstairs and addressed this with the front desk and was offered another room. We went to the other room and were greeted by more bugs, a molded toilet bowl, and a water leak from the tank on the toilet. I quickly made a reservation at another hotel and went downstairs to leave and get a refund. I was told the manager wasn't not on site, and they were not authorized to issue a refund. I didn't want to leave without getting a confirmation on a refund. We waited and finally at 10:00 at night decided to go to our other hotel because we had an early morning. I did receive my refund but can not believe the level of disgust the rooms were in. Pay more and stay at another hotel. You'll thank yourself!!

I was with my Mother .who is 75 years old. She had just gotten out of the hospital with some major issues. We stayed here for Thanksgiving....I reserved a handicap room !! They still had the nerve to tell me she has to leave due to her smell .which is simply OLD smell . Every hotel makes their own rules with these things . My Mom knew what happened .we paid over 100$ a night . I just think people are rude .don't thrse people have Mother's???

Sketchy area.
First room I was greeted by a dead roach on bathroom floor. Smell wasn't welcoming.
We were moved to a Suite. They tried to satisfy us. The room smelled worse. And felt worse. The lights didn't work next to the couch. It was rough. But after one night we checked out early. And money was returned. They should look into airfreshening venting. (Like Hawaii does in their buildings. That would help.)
I will not share the picture of our unwanted guess. I'm sure it happens.

I arrived here when this area already knew in advance they will be near the path of a Cat 1 Hurricane. The hotel failed to prepare in advance and check for a working generator. There was no power, windows were sealed and the bedrooms were hot, stinky and humid. We still did not complain as we understand it is a natural disaster . However, all other hotels in the neighborhood had generators and A/C. This hotel never took any step to fix the situation or do anything about this. The hotel did not care to ask any guests on their condition nor gave us any breakfast. I saw many upset guests. Their only comment was our generator is broken .
After I wrote an honest review on Choice Hotels, the manager showed up outside my room. I thought he is there to ask how he can make my experience better. Rather, he confronted me and told me to leave the hotel because I wrote a negative review!! This is outrageous and ridiculous. He told me to leave and he will refund one night and gave me a lame excuse that it is a natural disaster and was extremely rude in his dealings. I have lodged a case against these people and the management with Choice Hotels and hope to get a resolution soon.
Luckily, late evening we were able to find a hotel within a few miles with working generator and A/C and left the place. I feel bad for rest of the guests who are stuck with this place. Choice hotels need to teach how to be a good manager and how to treat customers!

The hotel front staff/mgr was by kind and understanding keeping her composure in difficult circumstances throughout a busy day with the computers up and down. The owner/mgr also was approachable and cared about the guests their experience. Would recommend!
