Every November they have an anniversary special each year. They usually do dollar puffy queso. Some locations do 55 cent enchiladas. The food is good here and service is top-notch. This place has been around Houston for a long time. Their location is all over Houston mainly towards the city though.

So, we recently visited Los Tios Mexican Restaurant, and let's just say it was different. First, the tortillas were tougher than a Texas summer – we thought they were going to be filled with something, but nope, they topped it with cheese, which didn’t quite save the day. The taco? Meh, it was something I could probably pick up at Walmart. But, on the bright side, the salsa – wow! One of the best we've had, hands down. Chips? Perfection.
As for the enchiladas, they were filled with what seemed like a brick of cheese– not quite the warm hug we were hoping for. On a positive note, the quesadillas? Above average – finally, something to get excited about. The chicken was flavorful, at least for the most part.
Now, since being in Houston from Arizona, we've yet to be really wowed by the Mexican food scene. And then, just to seal the deal, we tried the tamales. Tiny, salty, and once we took a bite, that salt pretty much glued itself to our taste buds and ruined the rest of the meal. But hey, at least we got a solid salsa out of it!
Salsa: 4.5 out of 5
Tacos: 1.5 out of 5
Enchiladas: 0.5 out of 5
Quesadilla: 2.9 out of 5
Tamales: no comment

The employees were very nice. They greeted you extremely happily when you walked in the door. They brought the chips and salsa out promptly and he was very polite. The waiter came out took my order and he was really cool and great guy. Very friendly. The food was really decent The salsa tasted really good. The green sauce could have been hotter. Lol The tea glasses are on the small side for me. But it's not like my taqueria's. They have cloth napkins which shows me a little class. I got a tostada, guacamole salad and a cheese puff. The cheese puff was really thick and big. The little different than the other restaurants. Also on the menu they have a section for meals with cheese puffs. Such as beef in the puff and stuff like that. I might come back and try that one day. The hot plate was rice and beans enchilada in a tamale. The rice had nice chunks of onions and strips of green and orange bell peppers which made it taste really sweet and delicious. I hope you enjoyed it like I did. The dinner and the tea came to $21.50
